Today Lillehammer showed itself from its best side. The sun was shining, and the sky was clear. Around 7000 spectators showed up tonight at Lysgårdbakken. Kamil Stoch won today’s competition, Dawid Kubacki came in second place and Robert Johansson came in third place.
Kamil Stoch was absolutely magnificent. The Polish ski jumper seems to be unbeatable right now and is on a leading streak.
He’s on his fifth day as the overall leader of the tournament and has won the day-to-day competitions two days in a row.
Robert Johansson, came in third place and was on his home turf. He was happy to be on the podium. People from Lillehammer had made moustaches for spectators to wear as a way to honour and salute Johansson. He’s well known for his moustache, and it was a symbol to show their alliance to him.
Tom Hilde took his last jump in the World Cup today. He has decided to retire as a ski jumper. After he jumped his last jump his support team surprised him with confetti. He has had a long and fantastic career.
Tomorrow morning it’s time for Trondheim and Granåsen. The tournament will now move from Lillehammer and to Trondheim. Early in the morning, by busses, everyone will be transported to Trondheim where there’s qualification in the afternoon.
